Susan grew up in East Lansing, Michigan (home of Michigan State University), and went on to attend The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (a fact that still rankles her father), graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

She discovered theatre at an early age via her mom (a teacher and director), and officially caught the 'acting bug' after putting on a puppet show in Mrs. Mock's first-grade class (by all accounts, a mega-hit with the 6-7 year old set).

After that career-high, Susan dreamed of becoming:
a) a company member at the Stratford Festival in Canada
b) a company member in an improv troupe, or,
c) a waitress.
None of these aspirations quite worked out, but she eventually was
a) directed by an original company member of the Stratford Festival (Douglas Campbell)
b) teaching improv to incarcerated youth in Michigan, and,
c) a not-very-good barista for 5.2 seconds when she first moved to New York City.
So, not a complete loss.

Susan has performed on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, understudying the role of Christine, after playing the role on the Second National Tour. While on tour, she performed in such cities as Washington, D.C (The Kennedy Center), Los Angeles (The Pantages Theatre), and Chicago (The Chicago Lyric Opera House). Susan also played Belle on the National Tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and toured throughout Europe in My Fair Lady. Off-Broadway and regional credits include: The Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Goodspeed Opera House and The McCarter Theatre. Favorite roles are many, but top honors go to Rona in ...Spelling Bee, Abigail in The Crucible and Kathy in Singin' in the Rain.

Susan lives in Cos Cob, CT with her family.
